ISO 9001 India – Important Changes in the ISO Accreditation



ISO 9001:2015 is a change picture of the ISO 9001:2008 which now referred to the quality management system in an organization. The changes have been aimed at the development of a better management in an organization, where clients and the employees get benefited and motivated to excel their skills in a healthy environment. It also aims at the improvement of the products to meet the customer expectation and demand on time. The proposal of ISO/CD 9001 was issued on 03 June 2013 to make the process more streamlined and effective I the organization. The standard still doesn't receive the approval for all regulatory bodies and is scheduled to be published in the fourth quarter of 2015.  

The proposal received 12 negative votes. On an average it received 78% of the approval from the on an international platform. Countries that are not in favor of the changes are the US, Germany, Japan, and Canada and 3,000 comments are there that didn’t support the updated form of the ISO 9000.
To conclude at the decision International Organization for Standardization (ISO) unannounced n 8May, 2014 that voting on ISO 9001 standard has to begin on 10 July 2014 and will last till 10 October 2014. Based on the voting any effective action will be taken. It is also announced that the proposed standard is not the final version it gives an idea about that will be included in the final standard. Some changes can be possibly done in the standard before publication of the final ISO 9001:2015 standard. A copy of ISO/DIS 9001 proposed version is available on the site of the ISO 9001 India, interested persons can purchase a copy of the standard online. 

The changes included in the revised version are some terminology and structure of the standard. Clause 4 and clause 6 has been amended which now focuses on the internal and external context of the organization’s QMS and risk based approach. The Clause 5, and from 7 to 10 are focused on the QMS requirement of an organization. Annex A, B and C has also been incorporated in the new version of the ISO standard. Like term product used I the ISO standard has now been changed to 'product and service’, similarly 'purchased product'  is changed to 'externally provided products and services' and 'supplier' to 'external provider', work environment' to ‘environment for the operation of processes'. 'Document' and 'record' of documented information'. ISO 9001 India will enable the organization in the quality management of its system under the internationally approved regulatory body.
